Cane Cutters Late Comeback Attempt Comes Up Short

Lafayette, La. – The Acadiana Cane Cutters lose at home against Victoria Generals by a score of 6-4. The Cane Cutters made the game close with a late 8th inning rally but could not complete the comeback.
Cane Cutters’ batters had a tough time at the plate up into the 8th inning of the ballgame. On the night they finished with 4 runs on 6 hits for the game. Justin Williams (Louisiana Tech) and Bobby Lada () led the way tonight with two hits a piece for the Cutters, with one of Lada’s hits being a ground rule double. Jarrett McDonald, (Dallas Baptist University) also contributed on the night with a double in the 8th inning comeback attempt which drove in 2 runs for the Cane Cutters.
After a rough top of the 1st inning, The Cane Cutters’ pitchers were able to bounce back and had a solid night as they allowed 6 runs on 8 hits in the ballgame. Reed Vincent, (Belhaven University) came into the game in the 2nd inning and pitched a good outing, he only allowed 1 hit while striking out 2 batters in 3.1 innings pitched. Case Roark, (BRCC) also had an impressive performance in relief as he allowed no hits while striking out 3 batters in 2.1 innings pitched.
The Cane Cutters will face off against the Victoria Generals on July 14th! First pitch is set for 7pm at Fabacher Field in Youngsville, Louisiana.
