Cane Cutters Officially Get Win After Forfeit

Lafayette, La. – The Acadiana Cane Cutters game on Saturday, July 24th, was forfeited by the Amarillo Sod Squad as they walked off the field after the 7th inning. This brings the Cane Cutters’ record to 17-15 on the season. After an eventful weekend with the Cane Cutters hosting Healthcare Hero Night powered by Ochsner Lafayette General and hosting our 5th annual Jr. Home Run Derby, Acadiana looks to wrap up the final week of the regular season. The Cane Cutters are still in the playoff hunt with the season winding down, and the Cutters will prepare for a big week of games to wrap up the 2021 TCL regular season starting on the road in Victoria, Texas tonight.


Ethan Lege (Delgado) is currently leading the league in batting average and hits with a .355 average and 39 hits on the year. Lege is also 4th in the league in runs earned at 23 with fellow Cane Cutter Will Veillion (UL) right behind him at 22. Josh Mancuso (Nicholls State) is currently tied for 4th in the league for wins at 3 on the season and has 22 strikeouts for the year as well. Will Tynes (Southern Miss) has an impressive 29 strikeouts on the year for the Cane Cutters and has 2 wins this season.

 

In the final week of the 2021 TCL regular season, the Acadiana Cane Cutters will have a split of 3 road and 3 away games. They will face off against the Victoria Generals tonight in Victoria, Texas before hitting the road again to play the Brazos Valley Bombers in Bryan, Texas tomorrow. The Cane Cutters will be back home on July 29th to play against the Baton Rouge Rougarou at Fabacher Field. It will be First Responder Night powered by Tabasco, so all first responders and their family will get free admission to the game! Be sure to come out and support all our hard working first responders!

 

The Acadiana Cane Cutters will play again at home at Fabacher Field on July 29th to play against the Baton Rouge Rougarou on First Responder Night powered by Tabasco.
