Cane Cutters Fall to San Antonio

06/10/2021 11:36 PM -

Lafayette, La. – The Acadiana Cane Cutters came up short to the Flying Chanclas 7-4 allowing the Chanclas to take the series. With the bats struggling for the second night in a row, the Cane Cutters look to bounce back tomorrow night against the Brazos Valley Bombers at 7pm at Fabacher Field.

Acadiana struggled on the mound this evening at times, but there were some bright spots throughout the night. Will Tynes (Southern Miss) went 5.2 innings with 5 strikeouts, and Reed Vincent (Belhaven) went 1.0 with a strikeout and no hits allowed. The Acadiana Cane Cutters will look to turn the ship on the mound tomorrow night in the homestand against the Bombers.

Ethan Lege (Delgado) was able to stay hot and record his third RBI of the season with a triple. Conor Higgs (UL Lafayette) stole a base and hit two doubles with that being his third double of the season. Carson Jones (ULM) was also able to show some speed by recording a stolen base.

The Cane Cutters look to bounce back at home this week with games against the Brazos Valley Bombers in a two game weekend series.

The Acadiana Cane Cutters will play again on Friday, June 11th, against the Brazos Valley Bombers at Fabacher Field. All home games will begin at 7:00 pm and will be broadcast live on TCL TV.
