Cane Cutters Announce 2021 Schedule

 Lafayette, La. – The Acadiana Cane Cutters are ready to celebrate their 10th anniversary in the 2021 Texas Collegiate League season. The Texas Collegiate League is one of the Nation’s premier wooden bat leagues for summer collegiate baseball. This year, the Cane Cutters are excited to face off against 5 teams in the TCL including the Amarillo Sod Squad, the San Antonio Flying Chanclas, the Baton Rouge Rougarou, the Victoria Generals, and the Brazos Valley Bombers. The official TCL schedule starts on May 28 with the Cane Cutters playing their first game on June 1 in San Antonio. The 44-game season will include 22 home games and 22 road games between June 1 through August 1. The playoff schedule is to be announced at a later date.


Acadiana will kick off the 2021 season on the road with two games against the San Antonio Flying Chanclas followed by a three-game stand in Amarillo. The Cane Cutters will start their first set of home games with a three game homestand against San Antonio on Tuesday, June 8 immediately followed by two more home games against the Brazos Valley Bombers ending on Saturday June 12. After a few days off, the Cane Cutters will play the Bombers one more time at home on Thursday, June 17 before having two more home games against Amarillo (June 18-19).

The Cane Cutters will start off an exciting intrastate rivalry with the Baton Rouge Rougarou at home on Tuesday, June 22. They will continue the series against the Rougarou in Baton Rouge (June 23-24) followed by two more road games against the Bombers (June 25-26). The Cutters will then start another series with the Rougarou splitting 2 home games (June 27 and July 1) and 2 away games (June 29-30). Acadiana will then host San Antonio (July 2-3) before having another series with the Rougarou with 2 home games (July 7 and July 9) and 1 away (July 8).

The Cane Cutters will then head out on a six-game road trip facing off with the Generals for two games in Victoria, Texas (July 10-11), two games against the Flying Chanclas in San Antonio (July14-15), and ending the road stretch with two in Amarillo (July 16-17).

Acadiana will then be treated to 5 straight in Louisiana with 2 home games against the Generals (July 20-21), one trip to Baton Rouge (July 22), and then two more at home facing Amarillo (July 23-24)

The Cane Cutters close out the season with 6 matchups in a row split with 3 home and 3 away. Acadiana will start off on the road in Victoria (July 27) and followed by a trip to play against the Brazos Valley Bombers (July 28). They will then end the regular season with four games back-to-back in the boot starting with hosting the Rougarou on Thursday, July 29, heading down to Baton Rouge the next day (July 30), and then closing with the final two games at home against Amarillo on Saturday, July 31 and Sunday August 1. 

The Acadiana Cane Cutters will open the 2021 season at home on Tuesday, June 8 against the San Antonio Flying Chanclas at Fabacher Field. All home games will begin at 7:00pm, and all home and road games will be broadcast live on TCL TV.
