The Cane Cutters win the first game of their series on the road against the Brazos Valley Bombers, 16-7. Acadiana took the lead after the first inning by scoring 11 runs in the next three innings as they kept Bravos Valley to only five runs in the fifth inning. Throughout the rest of the game, the Cane Cutters put five more runs on the board while allowing the Bombers to score only two runs in the final two innings. In the game, several players from Acadiana's roster had impactful performances on home plate. Through the night, Isaiah Castenada went 3-5 with three runs scored while he brought two runners home. Christian Hallmark also made an impact after claiming two RBIs alongside Peyton Woods and Ethan Espiricueta. Additionally, Colton Harrsion also brought two runs home but stood out from the rest after he hit his fourth home run of the season to help the Cane Cutters increase their lead in the third inning. On the mound, Acadiana cycled through five pitchers who collectively threw five strikeouts and kept the Bombers from taking the lead away. The Acadiana Cane Cutters will play their last regular-season game to finish the away series against the Brazos Valley Bombers on July 26 at Travis Field. The game is set to start at 7:00 p.m. and will be available to watch live on TCL TV. |
