YOUNGSVILLE, La. - The Acadiana Cane Cutters are back for their landmark 15th season of Texas Collegiate League baseball!

 

This season, we have six returnees and a handful of new players who are ready to represent Acadiana in search for our second TCL championship in franchise history.

 

The first of six returnees is Dylan Biddick, a sophomore outfielder who will be attending the University of New Orleans.

 

Biddick, a native of Lafayette, started his 2024 Cane Cutter season in strong fashion. In 23 games, Biddick bolstered a .350 batting average, accounting for 28 hits, five of which were doubles, 19 runs, and 13 RBIs.

 

In week four of the 2024 season, Biddick earned the league player of the week after posting a .471 batting average, hitting 8-17, scoring four runs, nailing two doubles, and recording 3 RBIs.

 

Currently, Biddick is playing for Bossier Parish Community College, where through 38 games, is posting a .406 batting average, accounting for 52 hits on 128 at-bats, scoring 43 runs and putting up nine home runs, 14 doubles, one triple, and 39 RBIs.

 

Also returning to the Cane Cutters is pitcher Kade Linn, a redshirt junior from Louisiana Christian University.

 

Linn, the New Iberia native, joined the team towards the end of the first half of the 2024 season.

 

In nine games, Linn pitched 22 innings, bolstered a 2.04 ERA, a record of 1-2, struck out 30 batters, and earned two saves.

 

This season for LCU, Linn has appeared 18 times, two of which as a starter, pitching 32.0 innings and putting up a 5.06 ERA, a 3-4 record, and 47 strikeouts.

 

The third returnee for 2025 is Bennett Mittelsteadt, a sophomore outfielder from Bossier Parish Community College.

 

A native of Scott, Mittelsteadt appeared in 33 games for the Cane Cutters last season, recording 100 at-bats, a .200 batting average, 20 hits, 22 runs, six doubles, and 18 RBIs, while also stealing six bases.

 

For BPCC this season, Mittelsteadt has appeared in 26 games, holding a .306 batting average and recording 19 hits, six doubles, two triples, 17 runs, 19 RBIs, and three home runs.
