About Richard: Richard grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, and attended Cathedral Carmel High School. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1982. In 1990, he and his partner Mike Collins started their consulting engineering firm, now named Chalmers Collins & Alwell, Inc., the company that he still leads today. In 1985 Richard began coaching youth baseball and youth basketball, and shortly thereafter, became a member of the Lafayette Parish Parks and Recreation Commission. He coached for 25 years, taking a brief break when his own twins were born. He is excited to bring this high caliber of baseball in a minor league type environment to Acadiana.

About Sandi: Sandi grew up in Houston, went to Texas A&M, and met and married Richard while there. She started with a Big 8 public accounting firm, became a CPA, and she spent many years as a banker. She retired from banking as CFO/COO in 2008. She is CFO of an oil and gas limited partnership, and has been involved with the Cane Cutters since its inception, doing whatever is necessary. Baseball has always been a part of the family, from taking baseball vacations to watching her twins play from age 5 to 19; keeping a scorebook most of that time.

About Megan: Megan started with Cane Cutters as an intern in 2013 and has been back every summer since in some capacity. She was previously at the University of New Orleans, where she was the only female baseball DOBO (Director of Baseball Operations) in both the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana at an NCAA Division I institution. She joined the Privateers in August of 2016 following her graduation from LSU. After four seasons as the marketing & tickets operations manager, and one year as the director of marketing & promotion, Steinmetz was appointed to director of baseball operations in July of 2021. She brings a wealth of baseball experience to the table as well, having served as a League Intern with the Collegiate Baseball League Europe (2015), the Assistant General Manager with the Baton Rouge Rougarou (2022) and an Academic Advisor with Global Scouting Bureau (2026). Megan is active in the community, serving as a proud member of Kiwanis International for the last nine years and a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association for the last five years.

About Luke: Luke Landry is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where he earned his degree in Sports Administration and proudly performed as a tuba player in the Golden Band from Tigerland. His time at LSU helped fuel a passion for sports, live events, and creating memorable gameday experiences. Luke first joined the Acadiana Cane Cutters as an intern during the 2025 season, gaining hands-on experience and developing a strong connection to the organization. Away from the ballpark, he enjoys spending time with his cat, Nami, photographing Lafayette’s local music scene, and making trips back to Baton Rouge for LSU football and baseball games.
