Acadiana Cane Cutters Announce Megan Steinmetz and Luke Landry to Front Office Leadership Roles
The Acadiana Cane Cutters have announced additions to their front office staff as the organization continues preparations for the upcoming season. The Cane Cutters proudly welcome Megan Steinmetz as Assistant General Manager and Luke Landry as Sales and Operations Manager.
Both Steinmetz and Landry have longstanding connections to the Cane Cutters, having first joined the organization as interns before continuing their careers in sports and returning to take on expanded leadership roles.
Steinmetz’s relationship with the Cane Cutters began in 2013, when she joined the organization as an marketing & public relations intern. She has returned every summer since in various capacities, giving her more than a decade of experience with the team and a strong understanding of its operations, culture and role within the Acadiana community. Steinmetz also spent one season as the Assistant General Manager with the Baton Rouge Rougarou, giving her insight into multiple team operation styles within the Texas Collegiate League.
A graduate of Louisiana State University, Steinmetz joined the University of New Orleans in August 2016. She spent four seasons as Marketing and Ticket Operations Manager and one season as Director of Marketing and Promotions before being named Director of Baseball Operations in July 2021. In that position, she was the only female Director of Baseball Operations at an NCAA Division I baseball program in the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. Her experience also includes serving as a League Intern with the Collegiate Baseball League Europe in 2015, Assistant General Manager of the Baton Rouge Rougarou in 2022 and an Academic Advisor with Global Scouting Bureau in 2026.
As the Assistant General Manager, Steinmetz will work across several areas of the organization, including sales & sponsorships, baseball operations, community engagement and player acquisition.
Beyond baseball, Steinmetz has remained active in the community. She has been a member of Kiwanis International for nine years and a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association for five years.
Landry first joined the Cane Cutters as an marketing & promotions intern during the 2025 season, gaining experience in multiple areas of the organization and developing a strong connection to the team, its partners and the community surrounding Fabacher Field. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where he earned a degree in Sports Administration. During his time at LSU, Landry also performed on tuba as a member of the Golden Band from Tigerland. His collegiate experience helped strengthen his interest in sports business, live events and creating memorable experiences for fans. Landry returned for the 2026 season to assist in managing the day to day operations at Fabacher Field.
As Sales and Operations Manager, Landry will work across several areas of the organization, including corporate partnerships, sponsorship fulfillment, gameday operations, promotions and fan engagement.
Away from the ballpark, Landry enjoys photographing Lafayette’s local music scene and returning to Baton Rouge for LSU football and baseball games.
The appointments of Steinmetz and Landry reflect the Cane Cutters’ continued emphasis on developing young professionals and creating pathways for individuals to build meaningful careers in the sports industry.

From beginning their Cane Cutters careers as interns to now serving in leadership positions within the organization, Steinmetz and Landry represent the continued growth of the program and the lasting impact of opportunities created at Fabacher Field. The Cane Cutters look forward to having both play key roles in the organization as preparations continue for another summer of collegiate baseball in Acadiana.
