The Acadiana Cane Cutters were defeated on the road in game one by the Victoria Generals 11-5.
During the fourth inning, Acadiana scored its first run when Rigoberto Hernandez advanced to first with the bases loaded, which led to Christian Hallmak scoring.
Parker Gwyn brought another run in with a single before Colton Harrison scored the last run in the fourth when Conner Stelly walked to first.
During the top of the seventh, Jake Messina scored for Acadiana after Peyton Woods sent a sacrifice flyball towards left field.
The Cane Cutters’ last run happened during the top of the eighth after a missed pickoff thrown to first base by the Generals catcher cleared the way for Hernandez to score.
Tomorrow, they will complete the series on the road in Victoria, Texas, before their next home game on Saturday against the Baton Rouge Rougarou. The first pitch will be thrown at 7:00 p.m. and live streamed on TCL TV.
