Lafayette, La. – Cane Cutter fans will have the opportunity to watch two stars in the making this summer as local college players Peyton Lejuene and Ethan Lege are set to make their debut for the Cane Cutters during the 2020 season, the team announced today.
Peyton Lejuene, a Teurlings Catholic high school graduate from Church Point, LA., will look to be a prominent figure in the Cane Cutters infield this season. Lejuene, a freshman from LSU Eunice, saw action right away in the starting lineup for LSUE as his discipline at the plate and strong defense caught his coaching staff’s eye right away. Lejuene was a powerhouse at the plate batting .326 in 14 games while driving in 19 runs. He had 5 multi RBI games and posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage making starts on the left side of the infield. Lejuene was the 9th ranked middle infielder coming out of the state of Louisiana in 2019. Cane Cutter fans can look forward to his stout defense and clutch hitting this season at Fabacher Field.
