On Saturday, the Acadiana Cane Cutters started their weekend series against the Victoria Generals with a 6-3 loss.
Early in the game, the Cutters took the lead with an earned run from Michael Latulas after Rigoberto Hernandez sacrificed a fly ball towards center field.
In the fourth, they lost the lead after the Generals scored two runs, but tied the game 2-2 from a double by John Maldonado Jr.
On the mound, Jordan Thompson replaced Jacob Baker in the seventh and was taken out shortly after Victoria loaded the bases.
Justin Mirles finished the game off as the Generals were able to take the lead after they rallied four runs to end the seventh inning 6-2 over the Cane Cutters.
Acadiana's momentum was halted in the eighth inning after they loaded the bases but could only score one run. They ultimately fell short in the ninth, losing 6-3.
Tomorrow, the Acadiana Cane Cutters will face off against the Victoria Generals again in hopes of tying the series. The first pitch will be thrown at 7 p.m. and can be broadcast live on TCL TV.
