Comeback Cutters

Youngsville, LA ( July 26th, 2019). The Cane Cutters nabbed the lead late in the game in a 9-3 victory over the Victoria Generals. The game was tied at three with the Cutters batting in the bottom of the seventh when Ryan Carr (Notre Dame) tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

 

The Cane Cutters earned the victory despite allowing Victoria to score three runs in the fourth inning.

 

The Cane Cutters evened things up at three in the bottom of the fifth inning. Champ Artigues (Southeastern Louisiana) drove in one when he doubled. Zavier Moore (Southern) tallied the one homerun on the day. The team tallied 11 hits in the game. Moore and Cameron Dobbs (UTA) each had multiple hits. Dobbs and Moore each collected three hits to lead the team.

 

Bryson Broussard pitched the Cane Cutters to victory. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one.

 

The Cane Cutters will be back at Fabacher Field next Wednesday July 31st for Purple and Gold Night. Wednesday is Happy Hour Hump Day!! Come out to the field from 6-7PM for $1 draft beers all night long.

 

Thursday August 1st is Linear Control’s Strike Out Cancer Night. The night will honor those who have won their fight, continuing their fight, or lost their fight to cancer. The Cane Cutters will be wearing custom made uniforms with the funds being directed to Lourdes Foundation, benefiting St. Bernadette Community Clinic Mammogram program. Any amounts raised will be a blessing to the patients we are privileged to serve!
