Cane Cutters beat Bombers, 6-2; End their win streak at 21

The Acadiana Cane Cutters got great pitching coupled with timely hits to beat the Brazos Valley Bombers, 6-2 ending their winning streak at 21 games at Nutrabolt Stadium.

 
 
The Cane Cutters jumped on the board early in the top of the first inning when Matthew Guidry from Southern Mississippi and Trenton Buchhorn from UT-Tyler both knocked in runs to put Acadiana ahead 2-0.
 
 
The Bombers struck back in the bottom of the second when Spencer Hemphill hit a two-run single to tie the game up at 2.
 
 
Buchhorn who remains to be the hottest hitter on the team and in the TCL launched a huge 2-out RBI double scoring Guidry in the sixth inning giving the Cutters the lead back at 3-2.  
 
 
Brian Browning from Ole Miss tossed six stellar innings for the Cutters giving up only two runs off of five hits on the night.
 
 
Acadiana extended their lead in the top of the 8th when Dane Geisler from Indiana State hit a double with the bases loaded scoring Dylan Hardy, Cobie Vance, and Buchhorn giving the Cutters a commanding 6-2 advantage.
 
 
The Cane Cutters and the Bombers will wrap up their series tomorrow night at Nutrabolt Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
