CANE CUTTERS’ THREE GAME WINNING STREAK COMES TO END

The Acadiana Cane Cutters lost a close road game to the TCL leading Bravos Valley Bombers by a score of 5-3. It was game one of the two game series.

 

The Bombers got out in front early and put pressure on Acadiana by scoring 3 runs in the 2nd inning. Acadiana would get on the board in the 5th when a Cameron Dishon (Ole Miss) double scored Daniel Cucjen (Alabama). Bravos Valley answered right back in the bottom half of the inning to make the score 4-1. Kennon Menard (Southeastern) hit a 2 RBI single in the 6th inning to bring Acadiana to within one, but the Bombers would answer in the bottom of the inning to take us to the final score of 5-3.

 

Jesse Stallings (LSU) started on the mound for the Cane Cutters and lasted 4.2 innings. He surrendered 4 runs with 2 being unearned on 5 hits. Hayden Guidry (University of Louisiana-Lafayette) was called on out of the bullpen and lasted 2.1 innings giving up a single run on 4 hits. He struck out 2 Bombers. Colten Lee (Pearl River JC) closed out the game for Acadiana with one scoreless inning.

 

Cameron Dishon led the Cane Cutter offense going 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Kennon Menard contributed by going 1-3 with 2 RBIs.

 

Jesse Stallings got the loss for the Cane Cutters. Cody Brannon got win for the Bravos Valley Bombers while Cannon Chadwick picked up the save. The Acadiana Cane Cutters are 7-5 in the 2nd half and 21-18 overall.  

 

The Cane Cutters will finish their 2 game road series against the Brazos Valley Bombers on Sunday. Acadiana will return home on Tuesday, July 22nd, against the Victoria Generals for Ladies Night where there will be raffle prizes and a t-shirt giveaway.
