PRESS RELEASE - ACADIANA CANE CUTTERS HIRE NEW GM
1-17-14
For immediate release

The Acadiana Cane Cutters are proud to announce the addition of a new General Manager, Bill Levy.  Bill comes to the ball club from the Augusta Greenjackets, the single A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, where he served as the group sales manager.  He has been in minor league sports, primarily affiliated baseball, for the last 20 years.  Originally from Wilmington, DE, Levy has a BBA in sports management from Robert Morris University (PA), and a Masters degree in Education Administration from Delta State University (MS).  This is his second GM role, as he led the day-to-day business efforts for one season of the Columbus, GA RedStixx, before they relocated to Lake County, OH, and became known as the Captains.  Levy, who moved along with that franchise, worked a total of five seasons in a couple of different roles for the Captains.

Team owner Richard Chalmers said "We are excited to have Bill join the organization.  He has many years in minor league baseball, promoting just the type of atmosphere that we are establishing here at the Cane Cutters.  We look forward to an even better season for 2014, as we plan to be THE place to be in Acadiana in the summer."  The summer collegiate baseball team will be entering its fourth year and is part of the Texas Collegiate League.  The roster includes players from colleges in the area, such as ULL, LSU, LSUE, Nicholls, Southeast, and LSUS, as well as colleges all over the country, including Alabama, Texas A&M, Southern Miss, University of New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Cal State Bakersfield, and more.

All home games are played at Fabacher Field in Youngsville, and the season starts May 29, 2014.  Season tickets are on sale now at the Cane Cutter office at 337-451-6582.    More info is available at www.canecuttersbaseball.com.
