Eddy the Cane Cutter Bobblehead Giveaway is an Instant Hit Hundreds of fans were treated to Acadiana's first-ever Eddy the Cane Cutter Bobblehead Giveaway at Fabacher Field on Saturday Night.
Fabacher Field was packed Saturday night with anxious fans who were out in force to welcome the Cane Cutters back to Acadiana after their weeklong stint in Lone Star State. Hungry baseball connoisseurs were also treated with a Cane Cutters first. Hundreds of Eddy the Cane Cutter Bobbleheads were distributed to the throngs of fans that passed through the gates made possible by Knight Oil Tools. The Cutters would end up dropping the evening’s contest to the Texas Marshals, but not all was lost, as many fans scored a brand new baseball collectable to proudly display.
After a long road trip, the Cane Cutters faced a powerful Texas Marshals squad that came ready to play Saturday night. The Marshals put up some crooked numbers throughout the game, hitting two home runs amongst many other extra base hits. Acadiana catcher Mitchell Nau, however, answered with a home run of his own in the 6th inning, crushing a 2-0 pitch over the left field wall and out of the stadium. Nau had a double earlier in the game as well. Chance Vincent landed a hit of his own in the 6th, immediately following Nau’s home run. Nau is now on a 5-game hit streak, during which he has 9 hits in 17 at-bats. The Cane Cutters will return to the Fabacher Field diamond Sunday night to conclude their series with the Texas Marshals at 7:00 PM. Tomorrow is Ascension Episcopal School Night with the Cane Cutters and is also our third “Slippery Sunday” of 2013, where ALL kids are invited to play of the Duhon’s Fun Jumps Waterslide for FREE from 6-7 PM.
