The Acadiana Cane Cutters fall short in the ninth to the Baton Rouge Rorgaru, 4-506/28/2025 12:11 AM -
On Friday night, both teams were tied after Acadiana's batter John Maldonado and Arron Marshall scored runs in the first two innings. Early in the game, Owen Schexnaydre pitched for the Cutters, striking out three batters in three innings. He was substituted by Trey Usey, who pitched four innings and recorded three strikeouts. The Cane Cutters were able to gain the lead over the Rougarou with a home run from Bennett Mittelsteadt in the bottom of the fourth and an RBI with a single from Isaiah Castenada in the bottom of the fifth. During the top of the ninth, Baton Rouge rallied with three runs to take the lead and kept Acadiana from scoring in the ninth to end the game ahead 5-4. Before the ninth, Jordan Tompson struck out two batters to get out of the eighth inning and was replaced by Isiah Castaneda to finish out the game. The Acadiana Cane Cutters finish the series against the Baton Rouge Rougarou 1-3 and will face off against the Victoria Generals at home in hopes of improving the team's 11-10 record. The first pitch will be thrown at 7:00 PM CT and live-streamed on TCL TV. |
