Nau and Rodriguez get All-TCL Honors

09/04/2012 11:46 AM -
The league announced that shortstop Isaac Rodriguez and catcher Mitchell Nau were honored as being two of the league's elite players this summer, as both were voted to the 2012 All-TCL Team.

The Acadiana Cane Cutters finished the season just one game shy of the Texas
Collegiate League playoffs, but were able to wrap up the 2012 season on a
high note. The league announced  that shortstop Isaac Rodriguez and catcher
Mitchell Nau were honored as being two of the league's elite players this
summer, as both were voted to the 2012 All-TCL Team.

Rodriguez solidified the Acadiana infield as a premier offensive and
defensive shortstop in the league. In his first season with the Cane
Cutters, the Southern Mississippi middle infielder notched 32 runs scored,
stole 10 bases, and was elected to the mid-season All-Star Game. Rodriguez
finished the season ranked sixth in the TCL with an outstanding .304 average
at the plate and ranked third in getting on base, boasting a .407 on-base
percentage.

After a brilliant season as backstop for Acadiana, Texas A&M catcher
Mitchell Nau was voted as the league's top player at his position for 2012.
Nau batted .284 with 29 runs scored and accumulated an impressive 12 game
hitting-streak during the month of June. Nau, who was also elected to the
All-Star game, provided top-notch dependability behind the plate as well as
offensive prowess, making him a well-deserved recipient of this honor.
