YOUNGSVILLE, La. (July 25, 2018)- In a close game against the Victoria Generals, the Acadiana Cane Cutters dropped the series finale 3-2.

The Cane Cutters fell behind in the second inning but struck back in the third tying the game at two runs. Catcher Connor Manila (SE Louisiana) was walked, stole second, and advanced to third on a passed ball. Kyle Bayles (Mississippi State) brought in Manola with an RBI single and then scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Cole Secrest (Lamar University). The game remained tied until the eighth inning where the Cutters fell behind a run.

Evan Daigle (Northwestern State) started on the hill and threw six innings, four of which were scoreless to keep the Generals at bay. Sean Tweedy (University of Southern Mississippi) took over in the seventh and struck out three. Ragin’ Cajun pitcher Jimmy Dobrash (ULL) finished things off with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
