Cane Cutters Get Robbed of Series Sweep Against the Generals

06/16/2018 9:17 PM -

YOUNGSVILLE, La. (June 16, 2018) In a hard-fought series opener, the Acadiana Cane Cutters dropped the win against the Victoria Generals with a final score of 5-4.

Cole Taylor (Texas A&M) brought in the first run on a sacrifice fly hit by Koi Westbrook (LSUE), followed by Chandler Morris (Texas A&M) who scored on a passed ball in the first inning.

Morris scored again in the third inning while bases were loaded after Mason Corbett walked (Texas A&M).

The final run scored by the Cutters came off the bat of Nathan Gabryszwski (Lamar University) who bashed a solo homerun in the fifth inning.

“He (Jonathan Jimenez) was throwing a lot of breaking balls when he threw a fastball, it was a 1-1 count, and he threw it up in the zone, so I just put a good swing on it,” said Gabryszwski.

The Cutters will attempt to split the series with the Generals Sunday night at Fabacher Field.
