YOUNGSVILLE, La. (June 1, 2018) The Cane Cutters take the series from the Texarkana Twins with a score of 8-6 on Friday night at Fabacher Field.  Just like in the opener, the Cutters struck first with a run in the first inning and another in the third.

The Twins answered with five runs in the fourth.  But the Cutters rallied back with six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.  After allowing the Twins to score one run in the seventh, the Cutters produced two scoreless innings to conclude and win the game.

Texas A&M’s Mason Corbett was named Powerade Player of the Game after going 3-4, producing 2 RBIs, and being hit by a pitch.

“I decided that I just needed to slow the game down, take deep breaths, and make sure that I wasn’t going to be late on the ball, that I was going to be on time,” said Corbett about his mindset in the batter’s box.

 The designated hitter, Nathan Gabryszwski, also had two RBIs and scored a run in the sixth after he singled on an error by the Twin’s right fielder. 

Come out to Fabacher Field tomorrow evening for our Dog Days of Summer promotional night starting at 6 PM.  Come watch the Cane Cutters take on rival the Bombers!  Dogs get in free! Dog owners will receive a free hotdog and there will be dog pools for your pooch to cool off in. Also, there will be a look-a-like contest!
