Cane Cutters Welcome Four Ragin Cajun Pitchers

Youngsville, LA (May 29, 2018) The Cane Cutters are ecstatic about our players coming from the Ragin Cajuns.  The UL pitchers joining our roster this season are Haden Erbe, Jacob Norman, Michael Leaumont, Jimmy Dobrash.

RHP Erbe (sophomore)- Is from Lafayette and went to Crowley High School before attending UL.  In the 2017 season, Erbe made three appearances throughout the season, all in relief.  He notched a career-best with three strikeouts twice against Tulane and Nicholls.  He didn’t allow any earned runs during two of his three appearances.

RHP Norman (sophomore)- Is also from Lafayette and went to Carencro High School before arriving at UL in 2016.  Norman was redshirted during the 2016 season with the Ragin Cajuns.  In high school, he was a four-year letterwinner, earned all-district honors as a pitcher in 2014 and 2015, and also named all-district as a catcher in 2013.

RHP Leaumont (freshman)- Is from Flower Mound, TX.  He went to Marcus High School before making the move to Louisiana to play for the Ragin Cajuns.  He was named to the 2017 Perfect Game Texas Regional Honorable Mention. Leaumont also tabbed as a unanimous first-team all-district pitcher in his senior season and posted a 1.03 ERA with a 7-2 record and 82 strikeouts in 2017. He had six shutouts in his senior campaign including a no-hitter and was a perfect 4-0 in postseason starts.  During his first season at UL he had 13 appearances, 2 saves, and 14 strikeouts.

RHP Dobrash (junior)- Is from Lakewood, CO and attended Mullen High School. Prior to coming to UL, Dobrash spent two years at South Mountain Community College and posted a 2-1 record with a save in 2017. Also, he had a 4.63 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 35 innings as a sophomore making 11 appearances. He tallied a 6-4 record in 15 appearances as a freshman and notched a 4.87 ERA in 61 innings of work with 40 strikeouts.

This week we have our home opener at Fabacher Field at 7 PM against the Texarkana Twins!  We also have home games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
