Cutters Offense Stars Once Again

07/11/2017 10:40 PM -

The Cane Cutters coasted to an 11-2 win on Tuesday night to push their win streak to 5 games.

Logan Bottrell (New Mexico) earned Player of the Game honors due to his 2-for-4 performance at the plate. Both hits were RBI singles, and he came around to score two runs as well to give him a final stat line of 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.

The Cane Cutter offense stayed red-hot in Tuesday’s win, as they have averaged 12 runs per game over the course of the current winning streak. Acadiana fell behind 2-0 early after allowing a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, but responded with one of their signature crooked-number innings in the top of the fourth. RBI singles by Cain Castille (McNeese St), \ Bottrell and Trenton Trosclair (Southeastern Louisiana) highlighted an inning in which the Cane Cutters scored 7 runs to take a five run lead. An inning later, they would put the contest truly out of reach with four more tallies, which came on a second Bottrell RBI single, RBI walks by Daniel Lahare (ULL) and Jesus Tovar (Northern Illinois) as well as an RBI hit-by-pitch for Trey Morgan (Southeastern Louisiana) to push the lead to 11-2.

{Player of the Game} and the rest of Cane Cutters will take on the Texas Marshals tomorrow before coming back to Fabacher Field on Thursday against the Texarkana Twins for Princess & Pirate Night...everyone in costume gets in free!
