Cane Cutters add local talent for the 2017 season

Youngsville, LA (April 18, 2017)- The Cane Cutters sign former Lafayette High standouts Cain Castille and Emile Lege. Joining Castille and Lege is RHP Evan Daigle and INF Turner Francis. 

McNeese State Cowboy Cain Castille, a two year starter at Lafayette High School batted .362 with 1 homerun his senior year. His ability to be a wall behind the plate and impressive batting average landed him on the first team all-district as well as the first team all-acadiana. His Junior year at Lafayette High was stellar as well. Castille batted .393 and was selected to the first team all-acadiana. He was also part of the Lafayette League team that made a strong run at the 2011 LLWS in Williamsport, PA.

Emile Lege was also a two year starter at Lafayette High School. His senior year with the Lions he posted a .355 batting average with 5 homeruns and earned first team all-district and all-metro honors. In his freshman campaign with the Northwestern State Demon's, Lege has 9 hits in 24 appearances. He also has a perfect fielding percentage with 27 put-outs and 4 assists. 

Pitcher Evan Daigle was a two time first-team LSWA All-State selection at Brusly High School. Daigle is also currently in his first season at Northwestern State University. In his freshman campaign with the Demon's, Daigle has fanned 6 batters in 11.2 innings pitched. 

Turner Francis spent two season at LSU Eunice before transferring to the University of Louisiana Monroe for the 2017 season. In 2015, Francis helped lead the Bengals to a NJCAA Division II World Series title. In 2017 with the Warhawks, he has posted a .288 batting average with 40 hits, 2 homeruns, and 17 RBI.
