Cane Cutters Announce 2017 ScheduleThe Acadiana Cane Cutters have released their 2017 season schedule as the team looks forward to its 7th season in the Texas Collegiate League. Joining the Cane Cutters coaching staff alongside head coach and former major leaguer Luke Montz is pitching coach and former Ragin Cajun pitcher, Joey Satriano. The Cane Cutters are coming off a 2016 campaign in which they finished with a record of 33 wins and 24 losses and will look to get back to the TCL Championship for the 3rd straight year. Opening day at Fabacher Field will include a 2015 & 2016 TCL Championship rematch. The two-game set will kick off on Friday, May 26th as the Cane Cutters host the Brazos Valley Bombers. The home stand will continue as the Cane Cutters welcome the newest team of the TCL, the Texarkana Twins on Tuesday May 30th and Wednesday May 31st.
The Cane Cutters will host 28 regular season home games along with 28 road games. Game Day promotions are planned thoughout the season for fans' enjoyment. Every Tuesday is "$1 Hot Dog Night", Thursday is "$1 Beers", and Sunday is "Slippery Sunday" (Kids can enjoy a free waterslide from 6-7 PM). We will also have fun jumps on a nightly basis and announce more special promotions and theme nights as the season approaches. The TCL All-Star Game and Home Run Derby is scheduled for Wednesday, July 5th in Bryan, TX. The regular season picks back up for the Cane Cutters with a two-game set at home on July 9th against the Bombers. The Cane Cutters close out the regular season at home against the Twins on August 6th-7th. The 2017 TCL postseason is scheduled for August 9th-12th.
