Baseball America names Connor Barron  in the publication’s list of the 2014 Texas Collegiate League Top Prospects.

Barron, now a senior at Southern Mississippi, has played for the Cane Cutters each of the last two summers, becoming an essential piece of Acadiana's roster. He finished this summer with a team leading .344 batting average, while helping the team clinch a playoff spot. Barron also finished with 34 stolen bases in 37 attempts while holding down center field defensively.

As part of their breakdown of selection, Baseball America said that Barron is a “five-tool player” who has “legitimate gap-to-gap power, annihilates mistakes and uses his plus speed and excellent bunting ability to consistently get on base.”

In addition to having a team-high .344 batting average, Barron also finished with 10 doubles, five triples and four home runs while driving in 20 RBIs. Defensively, he finished with a .976 fielding percentage with three outfield assists, committing just two errors in 46 games.
