CUTTERS GO UNDEFEATED ON ROAD TRIP

06/20/2014 7:56 AM -

The Cane Cutters used a balanced offensive attack to power their 17-6 win over the East Texas Pump Jacks tonight. Daniel Cucjen (University of Alabama) drove in four runs. Taylor Walker (Jackson State Community College), Justin Holt (Nicholls State), Connor Barron (Southern Mississippi), and Chance Vincent (University of Alabama) each drove in two runs. Trent Giambrone (Jones County Community College) and Alex Tucker (Nicholls State) each added an RBI as well.

Acadiana also relied on multiple pitchers tonight to complete the victory. Russell Reynolds (Louisiana State University) started on the mound tonight for the Cane Cutters and dealt four strikeouts in two scoreless innings. Jesse Stallings (Louisiana State University), Cole Butler (Ranger Junior College), and Colton Lee (Pearl River Junior College) worked out of the bullpen to complete the effort.

The Cane Cutters improve to 13-5 on the year, and are on a four game winning streak. The Cutters will finish their series at the East Texas Pump Jacks Friday night, and then return home for the weekend. There will be a Diamond Dig at Saturday night’s game against the Victoria Generals. Forty lucky fans, including ten fans to be selected at the game, will have a chance to search the Cane Cutter field for a 14 karat white gold diamond pendant designed with a half karat (50 points) of brilliantly cut diamonds valued at $1,500! On Sunday, Acadiana will be celebrating their mascot’s, Eddy, birthday with several other local mascots at Fabacher Field. Eddy will be celebrating at Kart Ranch from 2 PM until 3 PM, and will be giving gifts away that he received at the game Sunday night. It is also Duhon’s Fun Jumps Slippery Sunday at the game and a free waterslide will be available from 6 PM until 7 PM.
