CANE CUTTERS BACK IN TOWN THIS SATURDAY

06/18/2014 10:37 AM -

The Acadiana Cane Cutters, currently on a four game road trip, are slated to return home on Saturday, June 21 for a four game home stand, featuring some of the team’s top promotions. Things will get started on June 21, when the Cane Cutters welcome the Victoria Generals to Fabacher Field for the first time this season. At that game, the Cane Cutters are once again teaming up with Paul’s Jewelry for one of their signature promotions on the year; the “Diamond Dig.” At 6:30 forty fans will have the chance to “dig” up the infield for a chance to win a beautiful diamond necklace courtesy of Paul’s Jewelry. Fans are urged to follow the Cane Cutters on Facebook at Acadiana Cane Cutters Baseball and Twitter at @CaneCuttersBB for their chance to participate. Ten fans will also be selected to participate in that promotion on game day.

The fun continues the next day, June 22, as Eddy, the Cane Cutters loveable mascot, will celebrate his fourth birthday. Eddy’s day will get started with a party at Kart Ranch, located at 508 Youngsville Hwy, from 2:00-3:00 PM. Eddy will present 50 kids at that appearance with a ticket to that night’s Cane Cutters game. Also, while there, Kart Ranch will give Eddy numerous birthday gifts: 100 tokens to the batting cages and 100 certificates for another activity that Eddy will give out at that night’s game. Several other area mascots from places such as Home Depot, Sonic, Play and Learn (Spiderman), the Lafayette Fire Department, as well as others are scheduled to appear at that night’s Cane Cutters game. It is also a “Slippery Sunday” where the water slide is free from 6 to 7.

After an off day on Monday the Cane Cutters are back at home on June 24 and 25, vs. the defending TCL League champions, the Brazos Valley Bombers. The game on the 24th will feature a demonstration by the Acadiana Lacrosse program and on the 25th, swimmers from the City of Lafayette Aquatics program will be recognized.

All games are scheduled for 7:00, with gates opening at 6:00.
