CANE CUTTERS INK TWO PITCHERS

03/19/2014 2:07 PM -

The Acadiana Cane Cutters are pleased to announce that they have signed two left handed pitchers for the 2014 season: Florida International sophomore Charles Cormier and University of New Orleans freshman Hunter Medine.

“Getting quality lefties is very important for us,” said Cane Cutters coach Lonny Landry. “We are blessed to be able to bring them to Acadiana.”

Cormier, from Miramer, FL, has appeared in ten games for the Panthers, and has a 3.72 ERA. Medine, who hails from Donaldsonville, LA, has yet to allow an earned run in seven appearances for the Privateers.

“It is exciting that they are both having so much success at the collegiate level,” Cane Cutters GM Bill Levy said. “Our fans are really going to enjoy watching them this summer.”

The Cane Cutters will open their fourth season on Thursday, May 29th when they host the Brazos Valley Bombers at Fabacher Field in what will be the first part of an “Opening Weekend.” The Cane Cutters are part of the six-team Texas Collegiate League that features some of the Nation’s top college prospects.
